Social Responsiblity

North Valley Nut takes responsibility for continually improving practices and actions, in order to maintain high standards in ethical conduct and support all employees with dignity and respect. On January 1, 2012, the California Transparency in Supply Chain Act of 2010 (SB 657) went into effect in the State of California. The Act affects qualifying retailers and manufacturers to combat the use of slave labor or human trafficking in the Supply Chain. The obligations under the Act extend to qualifying businesses whether based inside or outside of California.

North Valley Nut pro-actively applies fair labor practices and standards with our employees and/or companies we work with. We do not provide employment to minors, unless it is authorized by law. All sales or purchases are in compliance with our fair labor code of practice, the terms & conditions of applicable contract, scope of work, addendums, proposals, quotes, and/or agreements.

Our Orland facility has been inspected and is in full compliance with California Building Code and all environmental laws. At North Valley Nut we do not discriminate based on race, religion, age, gender, social origin, ethnicity, or political opinion. We are an equal opportunity employer and work with all regulatory agencies. We believe and support our safety and quality training programs as an integral part of conducting business. All of our Safety and Food Safety/Quality training programs adhere to Cal/OSHA, USDA and FDA standards.

We are not aware of our vendors, suppliers or affiliates selling or producing goods or products that are tainted by forced labor or unfair labor practices. All vendors, suppliers or affiliates found violating the fair labor code of practices will be reported and declared by immediately taking or initiating proper corrective action.

We want to assure our customers that we treat all employees (both regular and temporary workers) fairly and within the limits prescribed  by all applicable laws preventing the employment or benefit from child or forced labor. As a supplier we acknowledge and certify we are in compliance and fully support this act.
